ACA-Certified Basic Whitewater Canoe Instruction Clinics

Learn Whitewater Canoeing fundamentals, maneuvers, and safety in our ACA Certified Basic Whitewater Canoe Instruction Clinic. Canoeing is a terrific, classic sport for paddlers of all ages and abilities to enjoy. You probably remember paddling a canoe at summer camp with your friends, or crossing the lake as a child with your family, but discovering whitewater canoeing is a fun and enjoyable way to spend time on the river. We begin on flat-water by teaching you canoe strokes and leans and progress to class I-II whitewater canoeing.

ACA-Certified Next Step Whitewater Kayak Instruction Clinics

Take your basic whitewater canoe knowledge to the next step in our Next Step Whitewater Canoe Instruction Clinics. We will teach you tandem canoeing, so you can enjoy whitewater rapids with your spouse, partner, family member or friend in our 16-foot river-running canoes, as well as solo whitewater canoe instruction. Whitewater canoe participants will perfect eddy turns, peel outs, and ferries in Class II water and accomplish self-rescue. Our ACA Certified Whitewater Canoe Instructors will help you advance your paddling skills with surfing, s-turns, canoe roll and ferries on our class II-III Maine whitewater rivers.

ACA-Certified Private Whitewater Kayak Instruction Course

Our ACA Certified Private Whitewater Canoe Instruction Course is ideal for anyone who wants one on one focused learning catered to the needs of your skill level. Private Canoe courses are centered on you. We can custom tailor our whitewater canoe instruction for youth groups, summer camps, and individuals eager to learn the basics of whitewater canoeing in an environment that makes learning fun. No experience is necessary because with private instruction, our ACA Certified Canoe instructors size up your abilities and then focus on your knowledge base to help you become a lifetime paddler.

• All equipment provided. State-of-the-art whitewater canoes, lifejackets, paddles, helmets, all safety equipment, transportation, ACA-certified Instructors, and a Registered Maine Guide on every trip, and our famous river lunch are all included.
• Ages 14 and over welcome in our ACA instructional clinics. A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under the age of 18.
• Minimum 6 paricipants in all instructional clinics or join an existing class.
• Wetsuits are available at an additional cost and required on some trips.
• Video and photos are available on any trip at an additional cost and must be requested in advance.
• We pride ourselves on small personalized trips and clinics.

• You must sign up for all scheduled programs in advance.
• Our Instructor to student ratio is 6 to 1 maximum.
• We welcome the use of your own boat or equipment as long as it meets our specifications and guidelines.
